The world of innovation
in magazines today
It’s not often I come across an instant ”must have” within the field of magazine design. But the fresh from the press ”The Modern Magazine. Visual Journalism in the Digital Age” by Jeremy Leslie is just that, spot on. Starting with the release of ”Carl’s Cars” in 1999 Mr Leslie reflects on the fast changing scene of magazine publishing and ends up with a conclusion that may very well come as a surprise to many: The world of magazines is currently in a Golden Age – not so much for the mediocre, but for those who have the guts and the fingerspitzengefühl to invent, to design and to concieve vibrant visual storytelling in the format of editorial brands. That’s enough, I think. Buy the book at Bokus.
